SBGAST which started operation in 1997 under PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, is a gas-processing terminal located on 100 acres of coastal land at Kg. Gayang, Tuaran, Sabah.

Besides processing gas and condensate, SBGAST generates and distributes its own power and compressed air requirement.

It is staffed by 55 number of highly motivated employees who values HSE at heart which is evident when SBGAST was the first PETRONAS asset to receive accreditation of ISO 45001:2018 in Occupation Health & Safety Management System.

SBGAST is considered as a hazardous installation as the processed substance is highly flammable and could lead to a major accidents if not controlled.

However, with the help of technology, competent workforce, efficient safety systems and full firefighting capabilities, SBGAST is able to operate safely with risk reduced to as low as reasonably practicable whilst being designed for automatic control with minimum operator intervention.
